Dreid_115bDavid Reid – Managing Director

David is an experienced communications and public affairs specialist who has worked in the science, engineering, and higher education sector for over ten years. A former geologist and keen amateur astronomer, he is passionate about science and communicating why research matters to anyone who will listen.

He was head of marketing, communications, and stakeholder engagement at the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) from 2008-2013 and led a large team responsible for delivering all of the council’s external communications activities. During this period, he created a number of major campaigns to promote the impact of the engineering and physical sciences to government, the public, and businesses interested in research.

In previous roles, David worked for the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, Deafness Research UK, the Institute of Physics, and University College London (UCL).

From research highlights to policy features, Rachel is a writer and experienced project manager who covers the physical and medical sciences. Her background is in science and innovation policy having spent over ten years with organisations such as NESTA, the Royal Society of Chemistry, Oxford University, and the Royal Institution of Great Britain.

Barry has been a professional writer and editor for 25 years, following his academic studies at the University of Cambridge. He has worked for an extensive range of organisations in both the UK and overseas, across both public and private sectors. His expertise embraces all types of written collateral designed to inform, persuade, communicate, and entertain.

 

John Graves – Media Relations and PR

From one-off press releases to media partnerships, John is a media relations specialist with over twenty years experience of working with the national media and developing targeted media campaigns for large and complex organisations.
